Spillemyndigheden, the authority regulating the gambling business in Denmark, reported a 12.8% YoY uplift in industry revenue. The highest figure was recorded in July. Total market turnover reached DKK 634 million (€84.6 million), an 8.4% MoM rise.
All forms of real-money entertainment are officially permitted in the country, so the sphere is roughly divided into the following sectors:
Ttis vertical’s earnings in July amounted to DKK 349 million, up 20.5% from last year.
Money distribution was as follows:
A small percentage came from other categories of commercial internet content. This group encompasses bingo, poker, and other web-based amusement offers.
Betting projects' revenue grew by 6% after 2 months of decline, surpassing DKK 159 million.
The fund breakdown by niches is as follows:
The vertical’s proceeds in July 2025 accounted for DKK 90 million, a 2.5% drop YoY. About 80% of this revenue came from gaming halls, while retail outlets located in restaurants accounted for 19.9% of the total.
Casino incomes increased by 18.8% to DKK 33 million. The offline segment also includes a new gambling line: land-based bingo. This sector launched recently and generated DKK 2 million.
According to Spillemyndigheden’s report, 62,577 people had registered in the nationwide ROFUS gaming self-exclusion system by the end of August 2025. It is 170 fewer than the previous month. Around 65% of program participants chose to block their access permanently.
Amid growing wagering volumes across all segments, the country’s government has initiated discussions on new gambling reforms. Banning niche advertising during sports was proposed. Similar restrictions are already in place in the UK and France.
Another offer submitted for consideration suggests increasing funding and improving work conditions for treatment centres created for players at risk. The licensed operator community supported this initiative.
