On November 8, 2024, the government approved provisions to be added to the local Gambling Law.
The main notions about the upcoming amendments:

- gaming restrictions will apply to both ground and digital casinos, with the state’s national lotteries being the only exception.
Under the new rules, gambling establishments in Lithuania can hire qualified employees to monitor cases of irresponsible user behaviour. These experts must undergo training by the LPT authority. They will be allowed to intervene in customer sessions and block their access to the entertainment platform or hall for 48 hours if any violation is noticed.

Additional measures will expand the regulator’s capabilities and limit players' access to illegal portals:
- ground and web gaming brands must maintain systems that record all information about clients, including details of their transactions;
- the businesses will also provide LPT with an unlimited pass to view customer data anytime;
- financial service suppliers must block monetary operations related to shadow gambling websites.
The country’s Ministry of Finance, which initiated the reforms, expects these measures to create a safer amusement environment and reduce the risks of ludomania. Additionally, licensed operators will adhere to high standards of social responsibility.
In 2025, centralised control will extend to a new tax regime: the rate will rise to 22% for slot machines, bingo draws, table simulators, and online entertainment.
