The Curaçao Gaming Authority has prolonged the validity of its provisional gambling certificates, enabling holders to further conduct their lawful activities in the market until December 24th, 2025. The CGA’s decision comes as the jurisdiction prepares to switch to a new regulatory model.
Previously, temporary licences had an expiration date of June 24th. These documents were granted under the new LOK system and allowed entrepreneurs to work until the full implementation of the regulatory system. The extension from the CGA applies to owners of B2C Green Seal and B2B certifications.
The authority noted that the prolonged transition period provides industry brands with the opportunity to bring their activities in line with the higher standards of the novel legal model. The rollout of the new regulatory format was slowed down in autumn 2023, during the legislative drafting phase. More issues arose in 2024 due to the large number of incomplete or incorrect documentation submissions.

In parallel, the initiative was met with criticism. Opposing parties submitted a report, accusing the CGA of corrupt activities, fraudulent schemes, and money laundering cases. The regulator categorically rejected all the allegations, emphasising that licensing procedures are carried out according to a system that meets top-tier global standards.
