A contract was struck by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, the distributor of the Portuguese national lottery, and the IGT Global Solutions Corporation.
After an acquisition process, the contract will result in the introduction of IGT's Retailer Vue sweepstakes terminal in the country. By 2023, up to 7,200 equipment units should be supplied.
The developer representative Jay Gendron stated that the business offers SCML cutting-edge technologies to fulfil current and future market demands.
The supplier is eager to collaborate with the ally in the long term and to launch a new terminal in the global arena. The solution will benefit the lottery business, distributors, and users while generating the highest possible revenue growth and charitable donations.
A 13.3-megapixel camera on the terminal is used to scan:
The machine allows contactless payments, eliminates the necessity for extra hardware, and lowers obstacles between customers and salespeople by clearing storage space.
The development is connected with in-store marketing panels giving integrated promos and jackpots. The touchscreen helps to accelerate and streamline transfers as users can interact with the machine directly.
Globally, IGT’s lottery equipment operates at over 475,000 points of sale. Despite this, the brand’s Q2 financial figures showed losses for the company's global lottery revenue, which dropped by 11% YoY to a total of $ 648 million.
This outcome was coupled with an underwhelming fiscal quarter, with a 2% yearly decline in total profits. But IGT's global gaming segment went well, reaching $ 330 million, an increase of 21%.
