The Iowa state government is postponing the granting of licences to gambling companies. In addition, they tend to legalise cashless games.
Postponement Reasons
A majority of votes in the decisive structures voted in favour of the initiative. This leads to restrictions on the issuance of work permits for casinos from June 1, 2022, to June 30, 2024.
Based on the testimony of Bobby Kaufmann, the head of the Iowa House State Government Committee, these measures were introduced to maintain the existing balance in the state. So that the new operators do not deprive the profits of the established gambling enterprises.
Mr Kaufmann argues that the measures are designed to protect non-commercial firms that are financially dependent on the deposits of state-regulated casinos.

Iowa’s representative, Kirsten Running-Marquardt, is angered by the adoption of a delay in issuing licences. She argues that many people have worked with focus on the gaming commission.
Shannon Lundgren, the project’s advocate, claims that the moratorium will allow viewing and analysing new features of the gaming industry in the US before launching new companies.
The final decision was made without reservation. Moreover, the bill included e-Sports betting permits previously. However, officials revised it and removed this part.
