A prominent provider of casino solutions, Light & Wonder (L&W), has secured official approval to supply a range of services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The licence, issued on July 18, came from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), the federal body responsible for supervising the controlled RMG sector nationwide.
The gaming-related vendor permit enables L&W to provide a wide range of services in the UAE. These include both online and offline activities.
This approval allows L&W to:
The clearance places L&W among a select group of businesses with vendor recognition in the UAE. It is the 13th company to receive this type of permit from the national regulator.
L&W's President, Matt Wilson, described this as a major milestone. He noted that the corporate team was honoured to be among the first certified companies and intends to bring its time-tested, responsible, player-focused approach to the UAE.
The GCGRA, launched in 2023, is liable for establishing a clear structure for a lawful commercial entertainment niche in the country. Its duties include vetting suppliers, granting permits, and introducing compliance rules. In addition to vendor licences, the authority issues other types of approvals.
Although L&W and several others have been cleared to deliver iGaming content, public access to fully regulated online activities has not yet begun. The GCGRA has not released any timeline, and further updates are awaited.
Light & Wonder, now officially recognised in the UAE, continues its expansion in regulated territories while preparing to offer its approved services in line with national rules.
