According to strong statements circulating in the German market these days, Bally Wulff, a German amusement-with-prize producer, has been sold to Apex Gaming of Austria.
Although neither corporation has verified this, rumour claims that Apex is simply a «front» for Novomatic.
Some reports last week examined the talks in Germany about the fate of the country's third-largest manufacturer, citing a rumoured acquisition price of 10 million euros. It was assumed at the time that Apex and Novomatic were working together.
The German subsidiary of Novomatic, one of the «big two» gambling manufacturers, Lowen Entertainment made no announcement as well.
Johannes Weissengruber, Apex's CEO, is also said to be selling 60 to 70% of the company to Novomatic. It all goes with a swirl of rumours and conjecture in the German industry. That occurs regarding a possible dramatic shift in the limited payout slots business, which now has over 200 thousand arcade machines.
Access to Bally Wulff Games and Entertainment intellectual assets might be appealing to Novomatic. At the same time, joining Bally Wulff's system of German sales depots could be a great opportunity for Apex as it has been striving to get into the local market for some time.
